Brian Pape has worn a number of hats during his professional career—from Learning Director, Tax Recruiter and Technology Leader in multiple Big 4 environments, to an in-house SeniorTax Manager for a Fortune 1000 manufacturer. He brings this professional expertise to his work at Geffen Mesher, and applies his vast knowledge in focusing on his favorite aspect of accounting: people.
“What first brought me to the industry, and what still motivates me, is having so many touch points with a wide variety of clients. I love helping people and business owners discover and benefit from new opportunities.”
Originally from rural Oregon, Brian credits a number of childhood experiences as preparing him for professional life—from the work ethic and appreciation for teamwork he acquired growing up on a small family farm, to selling candy bars on the long bus ride to middle school.
“When you grow up on a farm, you can’t help but learn the value of hard work. As for the candy bars, I followed the rules of entrepreneurship: know your market, set a fair price, and take care of people. I even had a ledger for frequent customers.”
Among his specialty areas, Brian enjoys working with individuals and companies on matters that involve real estate investment and development. Away from the office, his greatest personal joy is helping his young daughter discover what it means to be at home in Oregon. Two of their favorite activities are exploring the many natural areas so easily accessible from Portland, and maintaining their fruit and vegetable gardens.
