Bruen has comprehensive expertise in international tax planning, implementation, documentation, and defense. He has specific tax expertise in cross-border transactions, U.S. international planning, transfer pricing, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and Accounting Standards Codification 740. Bruen also has significant experience in foreign and U.S. GAAP, corporate law, contract law, and valuations.
Bruen formed a joint venture with Geffen Mesher in 2004. Prior to that, he worked for two international accounting firms in New Orleans, Brussels, and Portland for more than 15 years and for a publicly traded company for 8 years as their Corporate Tax Director. Bruen’s primary focus has been providing services to companies with international operations. He served on the M&A and International Specialty Teams during his time in public accounting. Bruen has an industry background in manufacturing, high tech, software, consulting and international operations. He provides clients with mergers and acquisition, transfer pricing, FAS 109 and other tax technical support.
Bruen travels extensively in serving his multinational clients and often combines visiting multiple client locations on each trip to reduce the overall cost to each client.
