After a year as a Bio-Engineering major, Emily decided to switch to the accounting program. Although seemingly very different fields, she realized they are both fundamentally based on a balanced equation and that it would be a good transition for her. She was also following in her father’s footsteps, as he also graduated in accounting from Oregon State University.
After an internship with Geffen Mesher in 2008, Emily joined the firm full-time in 2009. Even though the Tax Code isn’t known for being easy to interpret or navigate, Emily really enjoys digging in to the details to find answers to best help each client. She gets a sense of satisfaction learning about a client’s business and finding solutions to various tax issues that arise, as well as providing new solutions they may not have considered.
