While Kate’s first love in life was animals, she ultimately decided to pursue a career in accounting because of her strong math and analytical skills. She practiced for quite a few years in public accounting, then took a break to earn her Master’s degree in clinical psychology and completed two years of intern counseling with children and young adults. Kate then decided to become a veterinarian, a goal she achieved after six and a half years of additional undergrad and graduate work. She practiced small animal medicine for about eight years and still keeps her DVM license current and active.
Wishing for a more flexible and balanced career, Kate made the decision to return to accounting and joined Geffen Mesher in 2011. She loves the variety of working with small business clients, individuals, estates, trusts and nonprofits. She also works a lot with professional services pass-through entities.
A lifelong learner, Kate is continually motivated by and engaged in her personal and professional pursuits.
