Geffen Mesher has once again been recognized by the Portland Business Journal for its corporate philanthropy in 2017. Ranking 16th out of 36 mid-sized firms (categorized by annual revenues of between $10M and $50M), Geffen Mesher gave $88,100 back to the community in 2017 — an average of $855 per employee.
Prominent charitable recipients include United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, Portland State University, and First Growth Children and Family Charities (dba Classic Wines Auction). The firm’s annual United Way fundraising campaign is poised to begin next week with a kickoff party, basket giveaway fundraiser, potluck “Thanksgiving” dinner, and a pledge drive until November 25th. This year Geffen Mesher is aiming for a record participation rate among employees.
“Giving back to our community is a fundamental part of our corporate identity,” said Mike Rompa, Managing Shareholder. “We are honored to support local charitable organizations year after year — it’s who we are as a firm, and it’s what we have done for 85 years.”
The Portland Business Journal’s annual ranking of corporate philanthropists does an excellent job at showcasing the staggering impact that local businesses have on our city. Geffen Mesher is proud to be one of so many firms making a palpable difference in the community.
