Geffen Mesher Names Two New Shareholders
January 18, 2021
Jan. 13, 2021 — Earlier this month, Geffen Mesher announced that Jason Imhof and Matt Wright had each been promoted to shareholder at the firm. Both Imhof and Wright had previously been senior managers.
“Jason Imhof and Matt Wright have served our clients for years,” said Michael Rompa, CEO of Geffen Mesher. “They both exemplify stewardship, mentorship, and leadership, and we are honored to welcome them into our shareholder group.”
Imhof, who joined the firm in 2011, focuses on tax compliance and consulting primarily in the manufacturing, distribution, and technology industries. His specialties include emerging businesses, research & development incentives, private equity & venture capital, state & local tax, and mergers & acquisitions.
I am honored and privileged to receive this opportunity to be a shareholder at Geffen Mesher,” said Imhof. “I’m incredibly excited to take on a greater role with the firm, especially during these dynamic times as we shape our future and collaborate with our clients as their strategic advisors.”
Wright is a key leader in the firm’s audit department. Most of his clients hail from the manufacturing, construction, and professional services industries. Wright’s expertise in financial statement audits and reviews has led to consulting expertise in business consolidations and combinations and tax minimization strategies. He is one of the leaders in the firm’s mergers & acquisitions practice group and has consulted with clients on various business transactions.
“Serving our local business community has always been one of the most gratifying aspects of my job,” said Wright, who joined the firm in 2014. “I’m looking forward to all the opportunities and, yes, challenges that will come in this new chapter. I’m proud of the mutual trust that I’ve built with my clients over the years. As a shareholder, and with the support of my team, I’ll be able to work even more closely with clients as we plan for their continued success.”
With the additions of Imhof and Wright, the shareholder group at Geffen Mesher now numbers 19. The firm, in its 88th year of business, was recently named to Forbes’ Best Tax & Accounting Firms for the second year in a row. Many of Geffen Mesher’s clients have been with the firm for generations.
“Sometimes I liken client service to climbing a mountain,” noted Wright, an avid outdoorsman. “Overcoming obstacles along the way is the name of the game. I am thrilled to be able to help my clients navigate the obstacles they face, and it gives me great satisfaction to see them reach the top.”
