Geffen Mesher, one of Portland’s largest locally owned accounting and business consulting firms, is pleased to announce Melissa (Nartz) Carlgren joined our ownership team and became a shareholder effective January 1, 2017.
Raised on a cattle ranch in Central Oregon homesteaded by her great grandfather, Melissa carries on the legacy of her family by focusing her accounting practice on agribusiness and real estate. After earning her B.S. in Agricultural & Resource Economics from Oregon State University in 2000, Melissa interned in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. House Committee for Agriculture, then interned for an Oregon lobbyist who represented agribusiness groups.
Melissa started her accounting career with Geffen Mesher in 2007 after finishing her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate of Accounting from Portland State University. She has worked extensively over the past several years managing an active real estate practice as well as developing and leading the firm’s agribusiness accounting practice. With a true passion for these industries, Melissa builds long-term relationships to help her clients thrive and grow.
Melissa is also involved in several industry organizations, including serving as a Project Committee Member for the Oregon Society of CPA’s Farming, Ranching and Agribusiness section; a member of Oregon Women for Agriculture; a member of Sigma Alpha Oregon State Alumni; an Oregon State Alumni Association member; a member of the Canby FFA Alumni Association; and a lifetime member of the National FFA and Oregon FFA Alumni Associations.
“Melissa has been a tremendous contributor to the firm and has aided in its success over her time with us. She is committed to our core values and to the ongoing development and growth of the firm,” said Michael Rompa, Managing Shareholder.
