Katie began her career with Geffen Mesher in 2011 after completing her Masters of Accounting at the University of Oregon. Originally from the Bay Area, Katie made the move to Oregon in 2007 in search of greater opportunities and has never looked back. “Oregon is where I found my path to public accounting. I fortunately joined a firm that has invested heavily in my professional development since the beginning.”
Katie has provided tax and attestation services to clients in various industries, including real estate, professional services, and manufacturing. Having this foundation to build her career upon has proven to be invaluable to Katie. She feels the experience gained through a combination of tax and audit engagements has made her more equipped to help her clients by providing a better understanding of their businesses. Reflecting on this experience, Katie says the most memorable aspect of her job is the client relationships that have developed over the years. “It’s the positive interactions with our clients that remind us why we do what we do every day.”
She is active in the firm’s recruiting program and involved with the firm’s real estate industry group efforts. Katie is a member of Commercial Real Estate for Women (CREW) and is on the planning committee for the annual CorksCREW Wine Social. She is also a member of Women in Insurance and Financial Services (WIFS) and has presented on tax reform topics at their Lunch and Learn series. Since 2013, Katie has participated on the board of the OSCPA Educational Foundation, which serves to direct and award scholarship funds to qualified and deserving students in need of financial assistance.
