PODCAST: How owners of growth companies plan for exit strategies

Caleb Pilling, Audit Senior Manager at Geffen Mesher, recently recorded a podcast with the Portland Business Journal about the importance of having a plan in place when making a business transition. Here are some highlights:
- “Most emerging growth (business owners) are looking to exit and sell either to a financial buyer or potentially to a strategic buyer that’s a competitor in their industry. A lot of it depends on what the business does, what the goals of the owners are. It’s really unique to each business.”
- “Getting your team in place is probably the most critical component to [the exit] process and you want to do that at least two to three years before you think you want to exit the business.”
