Tania D. Gitch Named to 2016 Class of PBJ’s Women of Influence
April 12, 2016
We are pleased to announce shareholder Tania D. Gitch was named an honoree for the prestigious Portland Business Journal’s 2016 Women of Influence award. This award recognizes women from every industry and profession, and honors them for their contributions to their companies, industries and communities.
Tania joined Geffen Mesher as a shareholder in December 2013, and she has quickly become a respected leader, role model and mentor within Geffen Mesher. She has more than 20 years of public accounting experience working alongside owners of closely held businesses and individuals, is an active member of the firm’s dealer services practice group, and is also the chair of the tax department.
Several years ago Geffen Mesher established a Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI), and Tania serves on this steering committee. Less than 20% of the nation’s CPA firm partners and principals are female. Our firm’s WLI mission is to change this statistic by implementing programs such as our Customized Work Arrangement, Sponsor-Protégé program and company-sponsored leadership workshops.
Tania is also involved in numerous professional and community/civic organizations. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Oregon Society of CPAs, executive committee for Lighthouse Credit Union, audit committee for Clark College Foundation, treasurer for Hollywood Theatre, and board member for the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Washington.
“We congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition,” said Michael Rompa, managing shareholder. “I am proud to work alongside Tania, our first recipient of this award at Geffen Mesher. Her commitment to her clients and the firm, along with her dedication to our local community, are just a few of the reasons she is most deserving of this award.”
